Unboxing My Vase Collection- Edited from an IG Live Unboxing
Well, it's been 4 years since I made my very first vase and it's been quite the adventure. Today I'm pleased to share with you an edited version of my live Instagram unboxing of the first 3 vases in my new florist designed vase collection.
I have made flower arrangements in these for the last few years and I've included inspiration and past designs in the vases to go alongside the reveal.
You can see the whole long video on my instagram pC9OET5KsnHs/
As for the garden, it's been very hot here and the irrigation is taking care of the watering while I wait for things to grow. I'll take you on a tour at the end of July, dahilas are popping up everywhere but the rest of the gard...

Garden Tour | May 2024 with Sullivan Owen
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.2 месяца назад
Hi all, I"m happy to share a pretty lengthy tour around the garden here in Philly at the end of May. I've been enjoying the recent trend on garden channels lately of barely edited walks around the garden. I've added in a few looks back at where things were in 2020 and 2021. I hope to do a big end of year 5 year recap so this is a start at sorting through years of footage to find the "before" I ...

#gardenmakeover #gardenrenovation #cutflowergarden Long time, no gardening my friends. Well, actually I have been doing clean up here and there as well as a ton of work on getting my vases ready for sale later this year but there's so little time to edit! On that note, my postings may be a bit irregular this year. It's just not feasible for me to start essentially a new business, the vase colle...

Where did I Go??? Catch up with me and make some floral designs
Просмотров 6998 месяцев назад
Well hello there, long time no see! I'm back with a very long chatty floral arranging video and since not every one loves to hear me go on a ramble, I'll put chapters in so you can skip around if you're not into all the chit chat. I address where I've been, the health stuff I was dealing with over the summer, what I did while I couldn't work in the garden, how I'm working towards getting my vas...
A Quiet Zone 7 Summer Garden Tour | Philadelphia Sullivan Owen

A full tour is long overdue, so join me for a quiet walk around the garden here in Philadelphia. I'm taking you on my full lap which I do just about every single day. This is the first year in my 4 year renovation of this formerly abandoned property that things feel like a proper garden. I'm most impressed with how the outside of the fence gardens have grown since those are just 2 years old! To...
10ft Tall Tomatoes? Making the trellis and planting more veggies
Просмотров 2,5 тыс.Год назад
What started out as a simple day filling the raised beds in the Potager garden turned into something more, isn't that always the way? Due to an abundance of tomato plants, I needed to come up with a better way to support them. Each season, I've tried a variety of willow obelisks, tomato cages and plain old stakes and by mid summer, the plants are a tangled mess with the fruit struggling to ripe...
In My Garden Vlog: What's a few more planters??
Просмотров 9 тыс.Год назад
It's finally time to fill the planter groupings I've been working on for the past two Vlogs here in the Island Garden. Annuals are a great way to get some color in quickly as I wait for the perennials to fill in and personally I much prefer annuals in containers vs planting in ground. I find them easier to style that way and of course remove at the end of the season. I'm hoping most of these pl...

Today I'm tackling the second side of the Island Garden, while I'm not one for symmetry I do strive for visual balance. Side Two as we'll call it had a whole lot of iris and not much else. Why I thought this side would be easier I have no idea? I have so much space to fill with a better blend of perennials, grasses, of course some roses and some structure in the form of more planters and a cool...
Floral Design Cut from my Garden End of May 2023

The end of May is usually a fantastic week for cutting flowers from the garden for a floral arrangement and this week's peonies were spectacular. My last few peonies to bloom in the Spring are my herbaceous varieties and they're something I'd like to continue to add to my garden. I know not everyone is a fan of peonies, they bloom for just a few weeks and then they're basically a shrub for the ...

Your garden is adorable. Sugar maples grow great here in Kentucky, where it gets over 100 f every summer, though we dont have lanternflies yet. Im concerned that if you have to take the tree down, your garden will be destroyed.😢 But perhaps there is another way in. Three years later, i hope the tree survived. 😊 edited to add: i really enjoyed uour talk about the garden at Versailles. I was in the UK to study the gardens in grad school but did not get to the continent.

Hello! Thanks for including us in your list :) Our team loves a challenge and as you mention, we can build any size and include almost any feature. Doors can go anywhere. Windows, louvres, venting in sidewall and roof are a great option and we'll do some prelim drawings to show you what that can look like. Probably our biggest news is that a greenhouse that you've mentioned here can be delivered in about 6-8 weeks. Very different from about 3 years ago when our industry was experiencing an influx. Your note about sidewall height is interesting and there are many ways our team can work around it. We invite a conversation with anyone considering a greenhouse and often work with people for quite some time before they decide. Appreciate the opportunity to provide feedback here. Take good care, Angela

I have seen the Instagram with the peonies that you placed in one of your vases. It was so beautiful. That vase looks like a gown on a woman and I would love to have a vase like that one. I just signed up for the email information to get one, for the future. Thanks for the garden tour and update. I have a small but packed to the gills garden and I do it with no help in the Philly area. I also saw your Munstead wood rose and I'm guess that you might have three of them together? My Munstead Wood rose is very short and not so vigorous unlike all of my other D.A. roses. Do you have three roses together there?

This is really interesting as I’ve recently had some bare root poppies and they said not to plant in the ground right away, but to soak for 3-6 hrs and then plant in pots! I had two fail from a month ago so they did send me some replacements (unfortunately not the same type). I hope these ones work out better!

    • @Sullivan_Owen
      @Sullivan_Owen 3 месяца назад

i hope so too, Spring is totally different conditions for planting. I wouldn't soak anything for fall/winter but I did end up losing about half these. I planted more bare roots just last Spring and one variety thrived, one failed. I hope you get a great season with the plants. Last year we had a dry Spring and the poppies were amazing!

@@Sullivan_Owen yeah it has been so wet here for the past six months, absolutely horrendous. We moved into this place 18 months ago and they have the most amazing HUGE red poppies that seem to do well, so I'm hoping that despite it not being dry here, that they will work out where I want to plant them! I got some called 'white ruffles' which is a huge white one with ruffled edges, really pretty (at least I hope it will be!).

    • @Sullivan_Owen

I primarily use a florist's folding knife, when you're trained in a busy studio/shop you learn to use a knife for almost everything because you don't need to put it down between cuts. I also use snips and secateurs for harder/woody stems, my favorites are from Okatsune. They last forever and sharpen well

Don’t mind the mess :) I’d love it if you talked more about Native Keystone Plants (versus just regular native plants, keystones help uphold 96% of ecosystems and only 14% of native plants are keystone plants!). Living in the North Florida Gulf Coast I researched a way to make peonies thrive here. So last winter I gave them a weekly ice bath to mimic genuine winter. It actually worked! I have kept them in pots so I can move them around to see where they want to be. This fall I will be planting them into their permanent in ground positions.

I'd love to hear what blooms for you with this method! And yes, I'm not a super classic designer but I love my storybook slate roof. They last forever as long as you have someone to work on them but if we ever have to replace, we've bookmarked that same look in newer materials.

But I noticed, the video views of other channels of the same keyword are very high compared to your video's views are very low. And I analyzed the reason.
